Jazz, Tap, Ballet, PBT Ballet Ball, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Acrobatics classes are offered for all our Intermediate students. Students will be allocated their class based on their age and level to help them learn the correct technique and have fun with other students their age. Our Inter Elite classes are Invite and audition only, and are required to attend technique classes and two Ballet classes per week. These troupes are given different performance opportunities throughout the year at local events and competitions around Melbourne and Sydney.
Intermediate Dance Classes Geelong
- Ballet
Ballet is a technical style that focuses on the foundations of ‘dance’. Infinite Dance Studios use both Royal Academy Of Dance (RAD) and Australian Institute of Classical Dance (AICD) to help our students gain strength and technique. All Ballet students are required to do two Ballet classes each week, with the option of students sitting an assessment or exam when ready. This helps the students build strength and technique and also helps with our other dance styles offered.
- PBT Ballet Ball
PBT Ballet Ball is a Ballet/Pilates style class that uses exercise balls to work on strength and mobility for our dancers. It is a much slower paced class to make sure the students are able to develop their technique, strength and flexibility correctly.
- Inter Jazz
Jazz is a technical based class that usually runs for around 45 minutes for the Junior age group. This class uses both popular and musical theatre inspired music where the students focus on gaining flexibility, strength and Jazz technique.
- Inter Tap
Tap is a technical based class that usually runs for around 45 minutes for the Junior age group. This class focuses on both classical and Industrial style tap. Students will learn different skills from our Tap syllabus while focusing on gaining coordination, ankle strength and confidence.
- Inter Contemporary
Contemporary is a strong technical style that stems from Ballet. With floor, corner and centre work there are multiple styles of contemporary taught. All contemporary students are required to do either one technique class (Ballet Ball) or two Ballet classes at IDS.
- Inter Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a fun upbeat style that helps our students learn coordination and transference of weight. With different styles of Hip Hop taught, there is always variety in our classes.
- Inter Acro
Acrobatics is a strength based class where students are put in classes based on level and skill, not age. Students must learn the strength behind the tricks and then master a set number of tricks safely before progressing.
